Welcome to St. Thomas More School's Home & School Association
Dear STM School Families:
The 2011-2012 St. Thomas More School year is upon us. Welcome to all new and returning families! We begin to write a new page in our school’s history this year, as we also welcome Dr. Michael Ashton as our new Principal and Father Scott McCue as our church’s new Pastor. While we turn grateful hearts and prayers to both Sr. Catherine and Father John Durbin, who served our school community so very well for more than a decade, we move forward with the traditions they created and look with excited anticipation to the year ahead.
The membership of the Home and School Association (HSA) is comprised of STM parents, teachers and staff. Our efforts include three main purposes: 1. encourage and coordinate volunteer involvement; 2. maintain and improve the social environment among students, parents and teachers; and, 3. raise funds to support the school, its students and the enrichment and extra-curricular programs.
In additional to our many annual events and regularly scheduled academic and enrichment programs, the HSA has also created a new committee, the Faith and Family Committee. Its aim is to strengthen the connections between the Catholic education that your children will receive at school and what you as parents can do to play a supportive role in their faith formation.
Our biggest message to you as parents this year is – Volunteer!! Only through your volunteer efforts can we maintain the many wonderful programs that we now have at STM. Read through the HSA 2011-2012 HSA Parent Guide. Included in it are descriptions of our school’s committees and a list of volunteer opportunities. Click here for the Volunteer Opportunities Form.
Again, welcome to the 2011-2012 school year at STM! Volunteer! Make a difference, get involved!
Joanne Vance, President, STM Home and School Association
